Fire Destroys Building at Avenor, Industrial Area in Accra
A building at Avenor in Accra’s Industrial Area has been gutted by fire. The blaze broke out in the early hours of Thursday, October 1, and firefighters are currently working to bring it under control.
Reporters on the scene say the situation has grown more serious as the fire spreads to nearby structures, making it harder to contain than it initially appeared.
At this stage, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
Fire Service PRO Alex King Nartey told reporters that if the blaze isn’t contained soon, there’s a real risk it could spread even further.
Eyewitnesses at the scene share that concern, saying the fire doesn’t look like something that can be brought under control quickly.
