BoG Rate: Cedi Buys at 11.70 to the Dollar on Thursday
According to the Bank of Ghana’s official figures for Thursday, October 1, the cedi was buying at 11.7041 to the dollar and selling at 11.7159.
The pound sterling was buying at 15.5220 and selling at 15.5376. The euro, meanwhile, bought at 13.2724 and sold at 13.2845.

These daily figures sit within a bigger story the BoG has been telling over recent months. Governor Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama has previously pointed to a significant recovery for the cedi against major international currencies, alongside strengthened external reserves and growing momentum across several sectors of the economy.
According to Asiama, growth has become increasingly broad-based, with improvements showing up in services and agriculture, while industry has also started recovering gradually.
He framed all of this as contributing to a more stable, predictable environment something both businesses and investors have been waiting for. These developments have contributed to creating a more stable and predictable environment for businesses and investors, he said, speaking at the launch of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre’s (GIPC) 2025 Annual Investment Report.
