NDC to Open Nominations for 2026 Constituency Executive Elections on September 15
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has confirmed the next step in its internal electoral process nominations for the 2026 Constituency Executive Elections officially open on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The announcement came from the Party’s National Secretariat, following the general timetable released earlier. According to the statement, this opening marks an important stage in the process, with members interested in contesting Constituency Executive positions encouraged to make full use of the window once it’s live.
The Secretariat was specific about how payments should be handled. All picking and filing of nomination forms must go through the Party’s online portal at forms.ghanandc.com, with payments made strictly via Mobile Money across all networks.
There are also clear eligibility requirements. Aspirants, along with their Proposers, Seconders, and Endorsers, all need to be members in good standing, and must have fully settled their membership dues for the past four years. Anyone with outstanding arrears has been directed to clear them either by dialling 92025# or through ndc.org.gh/dues.
Alongside the nomination window, the Party has also given the green light for campaign activities to begin at the Constituency, Regional, and National levels for the 2026 internal elections. All aspirants are permitted to commence campaigns in accordance with the Party’s rules, regulations and directives, the statement noted, with Regional Officers, Constituency Officers, and Ward Coordinators instructed to allow campaigning within their respective areas.
There’s an important carve-out here, though. This campaign window does not cover anyone with Parliamentary ambitions — that includes sitting Members of Parliament, as well as anyone currently considering or openly expressing interest in contesting a Parliamentary seat.
The Secretariat made clear this rule isn’t optional. Any breach of the directive, the statement warned, will be treated seriously and dealt with in accordance with the Party’s rules and regulations.
In closing, the National Secretariat urged constituencies, aspirants, and members across the board to approach the entire electoral process with discipline, decorum, and respect for the Party’s democratic values.
The statement, signed by Deputy General Secretary Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, also called for cooperation from everyone involved to help ensure the process stays transparent, peaceful, and orderly from start to finish.
