Dzata Cement MD Nafisa Mahama Pledges Quality as Company Marks 5th Anniversary

Dzata Cement Managing Director Nafisa Mahama has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining the quality of its products as the Ghanaian-owned cement manufacturer enters its next phase of growth.

Nafisa made the commitment during Dzata Cement’s fifth anniversary celebration at the company’s plant in Tema on Tuesday.

The anniversary event brought together staff, distributors, supporters and other stakeholders to mark five years of the company’s operations.

Speaking at the celebration, Nafisa expressed appreciation to the people who have contributed to Dzata Cement’s growth and assured stakeholders that the company would continue to prioritise product quality as it expands.

Ibrahim Mahama highlights Nafisa’s leadership

Dzata Cement founder Ibrahim Mahama also highlighted his daughter’s role in the company’s management, describing her as business-minded and crediting her with taking firm control of the company’s operations.

In a light-hearted account shared during the celebration, Ibrahim Mahama recalled an incident involving one of his trucks about three years ago.

He said Nafisa had told him that the company no longer needed his direct involvement because she and the team could run the business themselves.

Ibrahim joked that if people no longer saw him at Dzata Cement, they should blame his daughter, whom he humorously described as “the problem.”

His comments offered a glimpse into the transition of responsibility within the company and Nafisa’s growing role in leading the business.

Dzata Cement marks five years

The anniversary celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony and other activities at the Tema plant.

Ibrahim Mahama used the occasion to encourage Ghanaians to take ownership of major industries and build businesses that can contribute to the country’s economic development.

The event also recognised some of the individuals and groups who supported Dzata Cement during its early years, including distributors and former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

The company emphasised its Ghanaian ownership as it celebrated five years in the cement industry.

With the company now entering its next phase of growth, Nafisa Mahama said maintaining the quality of Dzata Cement’s products would remain a priority.
