These daily figures are just one snapshot, but they fit into a bigger story the BoG has been telling lately. Governor Dr Johnson Asiama recently noted that the cedi has made a significant recovery against major international currencies, with the country’s external reserves strengthening alongside it.

He also pointed to a broader pickup in economic activity, describing growth as increasingly broad-based driven by improvements in services and agriculture, with industry showing signs of a gradual recovery too.

For Asiama, all of this adds up to something businesses and investors have been waiting for: more stability and predictability. These developments have contributed to creating a more stable and predictable environment for businesses and investors, he said, speaking at the launch of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre’s (GIPC) 2025 Annual Investment Report.
