NACOC Shuts Down Amsterdam Pub at Laboma Over Alleged Narcotics Activities

Amsterdam Pub at Laboma is now closed after the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) carried out an intelligence-led operation targeting suspected narcotics activity at the entertainment spot.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, NACOC said the operation itself took place overnight on Friday, September 4, following intelligence suggesting the facility was being used in connection with narcotics-related activities.

Three suspects were arrested during the raid and are currently assisting NACOC as investigators work to establish the full scope of what was allegedly happening at the pub.

While three people are already in custody, NACOC says the individual believed to be the prime suspect behind the alleged activities has managed to evade arrest and remains at large.

To track him down, the Commission has deployed additional intelligence officers, with the search continuing as investigations move forward.

NACOC explained that closing the venue which the Commission described as a self-styled coffee shop was a necessary step to support the ongoing investigation and, just as importantly, to prevent the premises from being used to continue narcotics-related activities while the case proceeds.

This operation isn’t an isolated move. It fits into NACOC’s broader intelligence-driven strategy aimed at identifying, disrupting, and ultimately dismantling locations and networks suspected of facilitating the distribution, sale, and use of illicit narcotics.

NACOC used the moment to issue a clear warning to owners, managers, and operators of pubs, nightclubs, lounges, and similar entertainment venues don’t let your premises become a conduit for narcotics activity.

The Commission reaffirmed that it will keep pursuing businesses and individuals suspected of enabling the sale, distribution, or use of illicit substances, signalling that this kind of enforcement action is likely to continue.
