Cedi Weakens Slightly Against US Dollar as Forex Rate Hits GHS12.30
The Ghanaian cedi recorded a slight decline against the US dollar on Monday, July 27, 2026, with the currency trading at GHS12.30 for selling at forex bureaus while the Bank of Ghana’s interbank selling rate stood at GHS11.64.
According to data from CediRates.com, the cedi lost one pesewa compared to Friday’s rates, reflecting a modest depreciation in both the retail forex and interbank markets.
Cedi Trades at GHS12.30 on Forex Market
At forex bureaus across Ghana, the US dollar is being bought at an average rate of GHS11.95 and sold at GHS12.30.
The average market rate also shows the cedi buying at GHS11.52 and selling at GHS12.09, both one pesewa weaker than the previous trading session.
Bank of Ghana Interbank Rates
On the Bank of Ghana’s interbank market, the cedi is trading at:
- Buying: GHS11.63
- Selling: GHS11.64
The interbank rate remains significantly lower than the rates quoted by forex bureaus.
Pound and Euro Exchange Rates
The British pound is trading at forex bureaus at:
- Buying: GHS15.27
- Selling: GHS16.20
Meanwhile, the Bank of Ghana’s interbank rate for the pound stands at GHS15.53.
For the Euro, forex bureau rates are:
- Buying: GHS13.04
- Selling: GHS13.84
The Bank of Ghana’s interbank rate for the euro is GHS13.25.
Money Transfer Rates Remain Stable
For international remittances, both LemFi and Taptap Send are offering:
- US Dollar: GHS11.65
- British Pound: GHS15.52
- Euro: GHS13.25
These rates apply to transfers from the United States or the United Kingdom to Ghana.
Visa and Mastercard Subscription Rates
For international digital subscriptions such as Netflix, Spotify, and Apple Music, the exchange rates are:
- Visa: GHS12.53
- Mastercard: GHS12.50
These rates apply to payments processed through the respective card networks.
