GES Releases 2026/2027 SHS Admissions Prospectus

GES Releases National Harmonised Prospectus for 2026/2027 SHS Admissions
Parents and students getting ready for the new academic year now have a clearer roadmap to work with. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released its national harmonised prospectus for 2026/2027 Senior High School admissions, covering both boarding and day students.

The announcement came in a statement issued on Thursday, September 3, 2026, signed by Head of Public Relations Daniel Fenyi. According to GES, the prospectus is designed to give parents a clear picture of everything freshers will need for enrolment, so families aren’t left scrambling once placements are out.
The timing is deliberate too releasing the prospectus ahead of school placements gives everyone a head start, rather than trying to sort out requirements at the last minute.
Beyond guiding parents, GES also directed schools and other stakeholders to strictly follow what’s outlined in the prospectus. The goal is consistency making sure the admission process runs smoothly and follows the same standards across the entire country, regardless of which school a student ends up attending.
With placements approaching, GES is urging parents and students to take the prospectus seriously and start preparing early. Reviewing the requirements now, rather than waiting, should make the transition into the new academic year a lot less stressful.
