PRESEC Legon Wins 2026 NSMQ for Record 9th Time

PRESEC Legon Wins 2026 NSMQ for Record 9th Time With 40 Points
PRESEC Legon has done it again and this time, they’ve made history doing it. The Odadeɛ boys claimed the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) title, extending their own record to a 9th championship win.
The victory came on Wednesday, September 10, 2026, at the grand finale held at the UG Premier Domes in Accra. PRESEC Legon put together a dominant performance, finishing with 40 points.
It wasn’t a walkover, though. The final brought together three genuinely strong schools in a tense, closely fought contest. Accra Academy made history of their own, reaching the grand finale for the first time ever, and finished as runners-up with 33 points. St. Augustine’s College (AUGUSCO) rounded out the podium in third place with 27 points.
With this win, PRESEC Legon cements its status as the most successful school in NSMQ history now standing alone as the only school to have won nine championships. Their trophy cabinet now includes titles from 1995, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2020, 2022, 2023, and now 2026.
This year’s final was organised by Primetime Limited and produced under sponsorship from the Ghana Education Service, GOIL, Prudential Life Insurance, and other partners who continue to back the competition each year.
News of the win sent PRESEC students, alumni, and supporters into celebration mode nationwide. Social media lit up almost immediately, with old boys and fans of the school sharing in the excitement over yet another historic milestone for the Odadeɛ boys.
