Fearless Echoes Crowned Champions of 5 Star Energy Jama Masters 2026

A thrilling night of drumming, chanting, and pure jama energy came to a close with Fearless Echoes from the Ghana Prisons Headquarters taking home the top prize at the 5 Star Energy Jama Masters 2026.

The grand finale unfolded on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at a fully packed La Kpaan Sɛɛ in Labadi, Accra, drawing hundreds of enthusiastic fans of traditional cultural music.

Getting to this stage wasn’t easy. The competition, broadcast nationally on TV3, started with seventeen traditional jama groups competing for a spot in the finale. Only seven made the cut to perform in the grand arena: MTCE Morale, The Generals, The DONS, Kpetekple Jama, Holy Family Morale, Fearless Echoes Morale, and Adom Drumming Group.

After two intense rounds of rhythm-packed performances, Fearless Echoes emerged as champions, with MTCE Morale taking second place and The Generals rounding out the podium in third.

The event was hosted by the ever-energetic Lord Asoreba Thunderh, better known as the Jama Lord, whose presence kept both performers and the crowd fully charged throughout the night. By all accounts, the finale pushed every group to their creative limits, delivering a genuinely unforgettable show.

Fearless Echoes won the crowd over with military-grade synchronisation, thunderous drumming, and booming vocal arrangements that completely took over the venue.

MTCE Morale, who finished second and clearly had the crowd’s affection, brought a more melodic, emotionally rich performance blending classic street chants with touches of modern highlife.

The Generals Morale, placing third, went in a different direction entirely, bringing raw, unfiltered morale energy with fast-paced percussion and dramatic, high-tempo formations that set the stage alight.

La Kpaan Sɛɛ was packed to capacity, with student groups and community morale crews waving flags, clapping in sync, and erupting into roaring cheers throughout the night.

A representative from title sponsor 5 Star Energy Drink also took the stage, praising all seventeen participating groups for their dedication to preserving and promoting authentic Ghanaian street music culture.

Fearless Echoes walked away with GH¢15,000 in cash, a complete set of jama instruments, an official plaque, and a bundle of sponsor products. MTCE Morale earned GH¢10,000 in cash along with sponsor products, while The Generals received GH¢5,000 in cash and their own set of sponsor goods.

Event organisers Brein Consult expressed gratitude to every participating group, as well as to sponsors 5 Star Energy Drink, Perla Mineral Water, and TV3 for their partnership throughout the competition. They reaffirmed their ongoing commitment to promoting and preserving jama culture, hinting that this won’t be the last time these drums come together to compete.
