Fitness Influencer Clavicular Says He Started Taking Testosterone at 14: 7 Shocking Claims
Fitness Influencer Clavicular Reveals He Started Taking Testosterone at 14, Calls Natural Training “a Waste”
Fitness influencer Clavicular, known for his controversial “looksmaxxing” content, has revealed that he began using testosterone and performance-enhancing drugs at just 14 years old, arguing that natural weight training was “a complete waste of time.”
Speaking on the Hang Out with Sean Hannity podcast, Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, said he abandoned natural bodybuilding after researching fitness methods online as a teenager.
Clavicular Says Natural Training Was Too Slow
According to Clavicular, he became interested in fitness while training in his family’s basement gym in Hoboken, New Jersey. After reading online fitness forums, he concluded that relying solely on natural training would take too long to achieve his desired physique.

“There’s no reason to train naturally,” he said. “It’s a complete waste of my time when I have this mechanism I could utilize, which was testosterone, to make the results in a much more efficient timeline.”
He said that belief led him to secretly purchase testosterone online while he was still in middle school.
Secret Testosterone Use at Age 14
Clavicular admitted he would pretend to be sick so he could intercept testosterone deliveries before his parents discovered them.
He revealed that his parents repeatedly disciplined him during his teenage years because of his behavior, including sending him to live with his grandmother after several incidents.
The influencer also disclosed that he was eventually expelled from university after his public social media posts discussing his steroid cycles and peptide use were reported to school authorities.
Medical Experts Warn Against Non-Medical Steroid Use
While testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is prescribed for people diagnosed with low testosterone under medical supervision, health experts strongly warn against using testosterone or anabolic steroids without medical necessity—especially during adolescence.
According to the Endocrine Society, unsupervised steroid use in teenagers can increase the risk of:
- Stunted skeletal growth
- Cardiovascular damage
- Liver injury
- Mood and psychiatric disorders
- Hormonal imbalance
- Reduced fertility or infertility
Medical professionals emphasize that hormone therapy should only be used under proper medical supervision and not as a shortcut for muscle growth or physical appearance.
Growing Debate Around Looksmaxxing
Clavicular has become one of the most recognizable figures in the online “looksmaxxing” community, a movement focused on maximizing physical appearance through fitness, grooming, cosmetic procedures, and other enhancement methods.
His comments have sparked renewed debate about the influence of social media personalities on young audiences and the risks of promoting performance-enhancing drugs as a path to faster results.
As conversations around hormone therapy and men’s health continue to grow, experts continue to stress that natural training, proper nutrition, adequate sleep, and medically supervised treatment remain the safest approaches to long-term fitness and health.
