NACOC Declares Frank Danquah Wanted Over Alleged Narcotic Offences
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) is asking the public for help locating a man identified as Frank Danquah, who has been declared wanted in connection with suspected narcotic-related offences.
According to a notice issued by the Commission on Tuesday, September 22, Danquah was born on September 11, 1978. NACOC is appealing to anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward and assist in tracking him down.
Those with relevant information can reach the Commission through its toll-free line, 0800 307 307.
NACOC was careful to stress that this declaration relates specifically to alleged offences, and that Danquah, like anyone named on the Commission’s wanted list, is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
According to NACOC’s official wanted-persons page, individuals featured there are typically sought in connection with offences under the Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2020 (Act 1019) covering things like the importation or exportation of narcotic drugs, unlawful possession or control, and involvement in prohibited narcotics-related business.
This latest notice comes at a time when authorities are already deep into investigations tied to suspected drug trafficking activity. Earlier in September, a much larger case came to light investigators began looking into the alleged trafficking of roughly 3.9 tonnes of suspected cocaine from Ghana to France, after the shipment was intercepted at Dunkirk.
Six people have already been remanded in connection with that case. Prosecutors allege that four containers had gone through scanning at Tema Port and were still cleared for export, despite abnormalities reportedly showing up in the scan images.
